In 2024, Aaron Rutten provided in-person consultation to help facilitate some of the visual design elements for Marc Brickman and Tactical Manoeuvre, working on behalf of David Gilmour (of the band, Pink Floyd) for his 2024 tour.
Aaron was even fortunate enough to see the show in-person at the Hollywood Bowl. In this clip you can see the brushes Aaron created to control the lighting.
“I’ve created a custom platform for painting with light for David Gilmour’s 2024 Luck and Strange tour. One of the components of the system is Corel Painter. I discovered Aaron’s tutorials when I was crafting the design of this show. I was impressed by the clear and intuitive way that he presented the material in his tutorials. So impressed, in fact, that I reached out to Aaron about creating some custom brushes and tools for use in the live show.
This is a totally different way of thinking about using the software, but Aaron jumped right in with the live production team. He came to LA to work with us on customizing the system, making the integration between Painter and the live lighting components absolutely seamless. His eye as an artist is invaluable when working towards the technical end goal, and his detail-oriented yet laid back personality set my team and I totally at ease. Aaron has been an incredible asset to our team, and would be to any team.“
